For Most People Drinking Alcohol is Enjoyable
For the vast majority of people who drink, alcohol is a pleasurable experience. This is particularly the case when they are actively involved in social and recreational activities and when their drinking behavior can be viewed as an example of "moderate use" or "responsible drinking."
America's Problem Drinkers
A relatively large number of people, on the other hand, simply cannot consume any alcoholic beverages because of the alcohol problems and difficulties they encounter when drinking. In fact, according to recent alcoholism and alcohol abuse research findings, approximately 14 million Americans abuse alcohol or are alcohol dependent.
