Alcoholics InfoThis is a featured page

People with a "drinking problem" and who are addicted to alcohol are defined as "alcoholics." Even though there are many behaviors that alcoholics exhibit, the following identifiable traits and characteristics are the most typical of alcoholics: their drinking interferes with their work, family, or friends; they experience unsuccessful efforts to reduce their drinking; they drink more and they drink more frequently; they suffer from alcohol withdrawal symptoms when they stop drinking; they continue drinking despite negative consequences such as relationship, employment, or legal problems; and they experience increased tolerance over time.

If this sounds like a repulsive circumstance to be in, it is. In fact, the effects of alcoholism are not only unhealthy and damaging, but all too often, fatal.
