With all of the damaging consequences caused by alcoholism, it is reasonable for alcoholics to learn how to abstain from drinking, how to recover from alcohol addiction, and how to reclaim their lives.
If abstaining from alcohol means receiving inpatient alcohol detox treatment, joining different alcohol recovery groups, learning more about the alcohol recovery process, going through alcohol rehab, or taking medications such as Antabuse to help prevent an alcohol relapse, then this is what alcoholics and other “problem drinkers” will have to do in order to recover from alcohol dependency.
